October 26: Drive-thru Medication Take Back and Flu Shot Day

Calling our community! Whether you’re a patient, current WCP member, or someone who’s simply vested in improving the safety of our neighborhoods, join us on Saturday, October 26, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. for an event that bolsters the wellness of all.

Our goals for the day:

1. Drop off your expired medications
2. Get your flu shot

Here’s how it works:

DROP OFF YOUR MEDICATION

From 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., our team will run an expired and unused medication and needle drop-off at the locations listed below. Simply take your medications to one of these drop-off locations and receive a FREE gift. Your efforts may ultimately save lives, and we’ll make this process extremely convenient and quick for you. There’s no need to leave your car, provide ID or fill out any forms.

For safety precautions:

  • Please pack your medications separate from your sharp items (e.g., needles/lancets).
  • Empty your medications out of the original containers and into a sealed plastic bag.
  • Sharps should be delivered in a closed container such as plastic bottles, milk jugs or plastic needle disposal bins/boxes.
  • No loose sharps will be accepted!

GET YOUR FLU SHOT (AT PARTICIPATING LOCATIONS)

You already know that influenza immunization is a great preventative measure for patients and providers of all ages, and it’s always resulted in better outcomes each and every flu season. After you drop off your medications, take a moment to get your flu shot inside the WellStar Acworth, Cherokee, East Cobb and Vinings Health Parks.

Flu shots are available to all adults and children age 13 and older. Most major insurance is accepted, or pay $30.00 out of pocket for the regular dose. High dose flu shots will also be available for an additional cost.

Download an event flyer to rally your network, or call (770) 793-7373 with any questions. See you out there on October 26!
