We are pleased to announce that 56 of our WellStar Clinical Partners physicians were recognized in Atlanta Magazine’s July 2019 Top Doctors issue.
The Fall 2018 medical staff leadership retreat was an inspiring opportunity to share best practices and future plans. The twice-yearly gathering permits WellStar physicians to learn from one another and collaborate on ways to improve performance and address challenges. The weekend event was held at the Westin Hotel in Buckhead and was well attended and supported by members of WellStar Clinical Partners.
WellStar Health Network’s current Medicare Shared Savings Program Agreement was set to expire December 31, 2018. CMS’s proposed “Pathways to Success” outlined its intent to increase savings for the Medicare Trust Fund by requiring ACOs to transition to two-sided risk models (up and downside risk). To give ACOs more time to evaluate the new program, CMS provided the opportunity for ACOs like WHN, whose existing contract expired December 31, 2018, to extend the current contract terms and conditions for six months until June 30, 2019.
With the emphasis on flexibility and ease of data exchange, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) renamed the Advancing Care Information (ACI) to Promoting Interoperability (PI). WHN practices have raised concerns over challenges in reporting this category. The score of each practice affects the score for the ACO. A low score or failure to submit will lower the overall score for WHN and all participants.
